If I was organized, I'd be dangerous.
Read that on a T-shirt somewhere. Coming to the point. The fewer things I have to do at a time, the better I do them. This is something I’ve learnt, the hard way. Most often, nobody has this luxury, and in order to copewe come up with our own little system. A whole bunch of them, in my case: 1. To Do lists on the computer: I Have an account on almost all the to-do list managing and GTD...

Chrome 4 + Vista == Windows 7?
Got auto updated onto my PC just now. It has tabs whose sizes and alignments changes when you drag them towards the edges of your screen. I run Vista, and what I just described was being touted as one of Windows 7’s awesome features. Take that, Microsoft!

Technological Singularity
As an ardent Sci-fi guy, i’d read about the concept of Technological Singularity (called other things in other places) a few times in the past. Did a quick recap today. Here goes, for posterity! Technological Singularity is the event which will occur when we build intelligent machines capable of building machines more intelligent than themselves. It helps to think of it this way, in broad...

Three easy techniques to maximize good fortune
As always, i still maintain that i’m one of the luckiest people I know :). Read an interesting article today about how being Lucky is a skill which can be learnt. The article is from 6 years back, got it on Hacker News today. It lists three easy techniques to maximize good fortune. More like three observations about lucky people: Lucky people tend to respect hunches, intuition etc. Funny,...

*As part of my endeavour to make the world a better place :)* Two steps: Go at times when the saloon will be almost empty (Wednesday afternoon, Saturday early evening… that kind of a thing) Be nice to the guy who is going to cut you hair I went to ‘Famous’ Hair Cutting saloon the other day, followed (my own) great advice and got treated like a prince! Examples of being...

Some interesting quotes.
From this post on Reddit: “You can’t reason someone out of a position they didn’t reason themselves into” “Build a man a fire, and he’ll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he’ll be warm for the rest of his life.” (lolz) “The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.” - Bertrand Russell ...

Damn! I wonder what they're doing!
Friends gone for a Hukka + Booze party to Borivali. Had work so didn’t join them (wanna keep tomorrow free at least for some time). But now every 10 minutes I keep thinking ‘Damn! I wonder what they’re doing!’ ‘Damn! I wonder what they’re doing!’ I should be making that presentation. And that blog post! *poof*

What is wrong with me??
For some reason, i like to repeatedly say words which contain a ‘U’ and then a double consonant. Repeatedly. Example: ‘Dukkar’ (means pig). ‘guggi’ (means nothing at all, is just a sound). I just say it aloud ten times in a row and find it amusing!

Went there for dinner a coupla’ days back, with family. Nice place and me being a sucker for Italian food, I totally loved it. Great Penne Pasta, Spaghetti and baked veggies. BW Sealink Misadventures
So yesterday, while returning from Dadar side, at around 12, stupidity happened. :) Usually, to reach home, I take a left below Bandra flyover and then the 1st right. But i thought chalo, lets go the long way. So I went onto the bridge/highway, thinking that i’ll take a U turn, just before getting onto the sealink (like i did before the sealink opened). NEWSFLASH!! No U turn anymore. The...

So as it turns out, i’ve realized that productivity has nothing to do with the number of hours one works. ‘Doh’ on would say, its obvious. Time is obviously in the denominator in the productivity equation. I know, but somehow, i’ve not ‘gotten it’ yet.

Self Defence
You still have hope!? Are you on dope? I know, its just a way to cope. A pretense. Just self defence. Now it makes sense. You’ve failed. The boat you should have boarded, has long since sailed. You wake up thinking about what could have been. Your fists clench, your want to rip out something. You could have done this, you could have done this, You could have done this, you could...

So whats it with me wanting to go out with friends every evening? I guess it just helps me escape the responsibility of having to take control of my life and do something which really makes a difference. Gotta change!

Since we are on the subject of corny poems...
People told me ‘you’ll never be a poet’, Still i thought - I might as well do it. It was a long, tiring and circuitous journey, but hard work prevailed - persistence was the key. Now, i can write some passable poetry, My fingers move quick, the words flow free. Sometimes, though, i’m stuck - there’s no rhyme for ‘orange’, But i move along, inventing words,...

Itself
A bit amatuerish but still fun - a self referential poem i.e. a poem about Itself Itself: This poem is going to be completely about itself, Not about an imaginary warrior, dwarf or elf. Neither will it be about some true event, something real, No, this poem will be completely self referential. The idea for this poem struck me while in a cab, And it blew my mind! I thought  how completely fab. I...
